Ben 10 Alien Force

Ben 10: Alien Force The Game, based on Cartoon Network’s hit television series, is the only video game that allows players to take command of characters from the ‘Alien Force’ team to authentically control and experience their adventures. The game begins five years after Ben puts away the DNA-scrambling Omnitrix, but now Grandpa Max has gone missing and the planet Earth is in grave danger.

Gamers must help Ben take the Omnitrix out of retirement and lead eight different playable characters-including cousin Gwen, enemy-turned-ally Kevin Levin and five of Ben’s brand new alien forms-Swampfire, Jet Ray, Humungousaur, Spidermonkey and Big Chill-to utilize their all-new super powers and defeat the intergalactic invaders. Gamers will also experience tons of new story content.

Gameplay is fast-paced, 3D and action-adventure based, offering an unlimited combo system with puzzles and challenges that will engage players of all levels for hours at a time. Ben 10: Alien Force The Game comes on the heels of a tremendously successful inaugural game, BEN 10: Protector of Earth, which launched in November 2007 and has sold more than one million units worldwide, making this an adventure not to be missed.

Playable Characters
Ben Tennyson - Ben fills the role of leader after Max disappears. The Omnitrix has been recalibrated, giving him access to a new set of alien heroes. Over the past few years, Ben has matured dramatically.

Gwen Tennyson - Now 15, Gwen is much more proficient with her powers, able to manipulate energy directly as opposed to using spells. Gwen is much calmer and grown up, nowhere near as fiery or sharp-tongued as she was five years ago.

Kevin Levin - A former nemesis of Ben, 16-year-old Kevin reforms and joins the Tennysons on their quest to repay Magister for saving him from the Forever Knights. While not as psychotic as he once was, he still desires revenge for his time in the Null Void at first, though he puts it aside to help stop the Highbreed. His abilities now allow him to absorb the properties of any solid matter he touches.

Humongousaur - Humongousaur is a Vaxasaurian, a humanoid dinosaur alien from the planet Terradino (a play on ‘dino’ from dinosaur). Standing at about twelve feet tall, Humongousaur has great strength and vast resistance to injury. He also has the power to increase his own body size and mass, growing up to sixty feet in height. His strength increases as he grows, and his dinosaur features become more pronounced.

Spidermonkey - Spidermonkey is a Arachnichimp (a play on arachnid and chimpanzee) from the planet Aranhascimmia. As his name suggests, he is a six-limbed monkey-like alien. He has superhuman agility and, like a spider, can spin webs that he can swing from or create nets from his tail, and stick to walls. When Ben transforms into Spidermonkey, he talks in an excited, childish tone and displays mischievous characteristics with occasional monkey-like screeching.

Jetray - Jetray is a Aerophibian (a play on ‘aero’ for air and amphibian) from the planet Aeropela. Jetray is a manta ray-like alien capable of flying and swimming faster than the speed of sound. He can fire neuroshock blasts from his eyes and tail, and the stingers on his head carry a powerful poison.

Swampfire - Jetray is a Aerophibian (a play on ‘aero’ for air and amphibian) from the planet Aeropela. Jetray is a manta ray-like alien capable of flying and swimming faster than the speed of sound. He can fire neuroshock blasts from his eyes and tail, and the stingers on his head carry a powerful poison.

Big Chill - Big Chill is a moth-like alien whose wings and antennae can “fold” up, giving him the appearance of a phantom; his appearance is reminiscent of the cryptid known as Mothman. He can become intangible and invisible, and can breathe freezing vapor. He can also freeze the objects he phases through at his discretion.

Key Game Features:

  • Authentically Step Into The ‘Alien Force’ World - Play the only video game that allows you to command members of the ‘Alien Force’ team; investigate never-before-seen locations, enemies and characters, and explore favorite places from the best show episodes.
  • Multiple Playable Characters with Special Superpowers - Take control of Ben and his new alien forms Swampfire, Jet Ray, Humungousaur, Spidermonkey and Big Chill to manipulate fire, swim underwater, grow more than 60 feet tall, stick to walls, fly at mach speed, plus lots more! Harness Gwen’s talent to create an energy shield to protect and attack, and use Kevin Levin’s ability to absorb materials to create impenetrable body armor.
  • Solid and Robust Gameplay - Explore action-packed levels and secret sections in arcade-style gameplay as you clash with more than 20 types of enemies; use more than 75 attack options and create unlimited attack chaining with the streamlined combo system; engage in two-player co-op on the PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system for hours of fun and replayability.
  • Based On a Successful Television Franchise - As one of Cartoon Network’s breakout original franchises, the Ben 10: Alien Force television series is in its first season as a top-rated show, and is the next generation continuation of the phenomenally successful and Emmy-winning Ben 10 original series. A long form television movie based on Ben 10: Alien Force will debut on Cartoon Network in fall 2008.
  • Exceptional Level of Authenticity - The game’s art style, sound effects and music are 100% authentic, with all audio in the game pulled directly from the show sound vaults and all voice acting provided by the original television cast.

5 Stars Great Game!
I purchased this game for my six year old ben10 fan with the wii system for Christmas. He loves it. It was a little challenging for him at first, but as he learned to maniplulate the controller it became easier for him. By the second day he was completing tasks that I wasn’t able to! It is a fun game that we both enjoyed playing until we beat it. My son is still enjoying going back into the different levels of the game using all the aliens we got throughout the completion of the game. I would buy this again.

5 Stars Be careful
My little nephew nearly poo’d himself with joy upon receiving this gift. It has kept him entertained for weeks now. I played it some and it is a quality game.

5 Stars Awesome!
Very fun game! Lots of stuff to unlock! Only 5 aliens though. I thought there might be “10″.

5 Stars Another Bensation!
My son is the ultimate Ben 10 fan, and he was not let down with this new game! He loves it!

3 Stars Game Okay
This game is a little boring but the kids play it anyway, I think because it’s only becasue it for the WII

Wanted Weapons of Fate

Wanted Weapons of Fate

In Wanted: Weapons of Fate, Warner Bros. brings the box office movie to the Xbox 360 platform. Like the movie, the game revolves around a centuries-old, secret fraternity of assassins that brutally executes people as dictated by the mysterious Loom of Fate. Your destiny is to become their ultimate weapon.

Curve bullets and kill your targets, just like in the hit movie. View larger.

You play as Wesley Gibson — a super assassin and the heir to The Fraternity’s legacy of power. View larger.

Close, hand-to-hand combat provides exciting game play. View larger.

Take out your targets by hitting an explosive object and creating a deadly blast. View larger.

From Big Screen to Video Game
Kicking into action where the hit film left off, Wanted: Weapons of Fate lets you take on the role of Wesley Gibson — a super assassin and the heir to The Fraternity’s legacy of power. Your position has made you a target for a renegade faction of The Fraternity that is dead-set on hunting you down and killing you. In order to survive you must master an arsenal of deadly skills to protect the secrets of The Fraternity and turn the table on those who want you dead.

Bend bullets and Become a Super Assassin
This game employs plenty of mechanics that fans of the movie are sure to love. The most obvious example is curved bullets. During game play you can curve a bullet around objects or corners to hit your target. You can determine the curved trajectory of your bullet so it can bend around columns and take out multiple enemies in a single shot, or use this skill to hit an explosive object and take out your enemy with a blast.

Other cool game play features include a “quick-chain” cover to shield yourself and move through the environment with remarkable speed. The pace of the game and your assassin skills encourage close, hand-to-hand combat for even greater excitement. And as you hone your skills, you can even take down multiple enemies with sheer precision while using Assassin Time.

Meet The Heir
Wesley Gibson — The Heir — was once an insignificant nobody, but now he’s the successor to his father’s legacy as The Killer. After being betrayed by The Fraternity that trained him, Wesley took his destiny into his own hands and exacted his revenge on them all. Now he is surrounded by the destruction he caused with nothing but questions about his heritage, The Fraternity, and the Will of Fate. The answers he seeks are out there, but so is a bullet with his name on it.

The Assassin’s Directory
The Russian is The Fraternity’s cleaner. Known as Death’s Janitor he is vulgar and perverted. He finds pleasure in things that others would find appalling. As the leader of the French Fraternity, The Immortal is not a villain — he’s a fanatic. he will stop at nothing to follow The Code of Weavers with an unwavering, unquestioning commitment. The Immortal is a supremely skilled assassin almost equal to that of The Killer (Gibson’s father). Remorseless, it is not his fault that deaths occur by his hands, it is the fault of his victims for being “only mortal,” and incapable of escaping Fate’s Will.

Cross, also known as The Killer, is the greatest assassin that has ever lived. A member of the Chicago Fraternity, he is a true believer in The Fraternity’s tenet of “Kill one, save a thousand.” Although his name was never wove by the Loom of Fate, Cross discovered a secret in the Chicago Fraternity that made him the target of those who were once his allies.

3 Stars Renter
Pretty short and it get’s dull. Rent it or buy it way later when it’s super cheap.

1 Star Shortest….Game….Ever…….Thanks God!
I’ve heard the argument that the time it takes to beat a game should not be the only factor when determining its worth. I agree, but this is ridiculous. 4 hours to beat on normal mode….actually quicker when you go back and try to beat on killer mode, because you now are 100% acclimated to the controls (yeah, like all 3 of them….really, there are like 3 moves in the game). You get 2 guns, a small caliber handgun that you can curve the bullets (fun for about 45 minutes) and another handgun that shoots explosive bullets (fun for about 30 minutes). You can also slow down time (fun for about 10 minutes).

This game is so repetitive, and bad- yet is only 4 hours long..how does that happen? I’ll tell you. 1.)No assortment of guns (yes there are the obligatory sniper and turret sections…but are you kidding, the sniper is a joke and the turret is frustrating to aim with. 2.)One of the top 5 worst dialog withing a game, games EVER 3.) achievements that encourage you to play through several times…as if that alone makes for replayability 4.)The game gets ridiculously easy one you become proficient in using you curve bullets/exploding bullets/slow time and cover…even on the hardest difficulty a 6yr old could master it.

This game is trash, luckily I rented it and even felt a bit annoyed that I spent any money on this garbage, lackluster offering.

3 Stars WAytoshortNTED
Beat it in three hours. Easy breezy. Great for the xbox achievements but fun factor was minimal.

The levels I was looking forward to were button cut scenes. So that was a let down.

[...]

Fun to play through once. But nothing else to keep you playing again.

You play on medium and you get the achievement after beatin the level plus the achievement for EASY too. Whats the point? Its cool. Just not great.

2 Stars Wasted potential
Translating Mark Millar and J.G. Jones’ Wanted comic to film was one thing, but translating the bullet-laden flick to the video game world seems like a match made in Heaven. Sadly, Wanted: Weapons of Fate is really nothing else but wasted potential. Taking place after the film, you play as Wesley and take down hordes of baddies. The whole curving the bullet technique is here, and is a fun little trick to pull off at first as well. Once you get the hang of it though, as well as the game’s controls, Wanted ends up being a pretty boring and easy affair. The fact that the game is so short that you could finish it in an afternoon doesn’t help matters any, and neither does the fact that there’s no online play either. The game looks decent enough, there’s multiple difficulties, and there’s some unlockables including alternate costumes and the like, but once you play through Wanted: Weapons of Fate, there really isn’t any reason to go back. Were this a budget-priced game, it would definitely be worth checking out, but alas, it isn’t, and considering the elements that could have translated so well into the action video game world, the game just ends up coming up so short. All in all, Wanted: Weapons of Fate is worth a rental for fans of the film, but other than that, it’s best left on the shelf.

2 Stars Okay Rental, Horrible Purchase
As others have said, this game is very, very short, very simple, and has little replay value. The only challenge to this game is in learning the controls for the first time. After about thirty minutes or less you have those down and then you are left with one of the easiest games ever produced. This game does have some fun moments initially, but after experiencing them for the 50th time, it gets old. What is really sad is that this game had huge potential, it was based on an amazing movie, the ability to curve bullets provides a good chance for innovative gaming, and the few slow-time scenes were fun, if scripted. The problem is, the game does not have any of the wit of the movie. Every line of dialog is forced, sounding like it was written by a third-grader who just liked the swearing in the movie (this must be why Wesley apparently developed a bad case of Torette’s) and the storyline starts off well but quickly dies a horrid death due to (again) forced twists and conflicting scenes. This would have been better more as a Hitman-type game, where you had targets that you had to take out, but had to use your skills such as bullet curving and slow-time to do it, not as the third-person shooter it was.

The bullet curving could have been the best thing about this game, creating a unique fighting style, however it is so formulaic, it becomes boring quickly (lock, angle, shoot, done). There are several scenes where your adrenaline kicks in and you go into a slow-time mode where you can shoot bullets out of the air and take out the baddies, this is fun but is very scripted each time, would have been better if you could have used this ability during the normal game and could use your bullet-curving power with it.

The NPC’s are horrible as well. There are basically three types of bad-guys, once you figure them out the game might as well be over. The first is the thug, usually one hit take-down, the second is the slightly stronger thug, takes multiple bullets, but just bullet curve, then shoot when he stumbles. The third is the elite hitman, he can doge your rounds to an extent, but still is easy to take down (the melee attacks take down anything with one hit anyway). There are also a few snipers and shield troops, but they are just variants of the above. All enemies appear in a set manner, so if you do happen to die once, you will know where they are the second time. The bosses are a joke. All have a set pattern and are ridiculously easy, even the last boss.

Finally, the weapons, or lack thereof I should say. There is no variety here and I’m not sure why they even bothered with ammo limits, as I never found myself low on ammo or having to scrounge. The sniping scope was lame, hard to aim and a one shot-one kill, no matter where you hit. The fixed MG was bad, but with this one, once you figured out where to put your gun as you hid behind it, you could get the sights on pretty quickly when you pop up to aim. A cool thing would have been to be able to set up a sniper shot like in the movie, set a trap for your target, pick a sniping location, and calculate the path of the bullet (or maybe even control the round in the air). Again, more like Hitman, would at least make you think for a second.

Pros:

-Decent Graphics (not Great).

-Innovative Game-Play in Places.

-Easy Achievements (A pro for some…I’m just trying to be nice, lol).

Cons:

-Wasted Potential for a Great Game.

-Extreme Lack of Variety (guns, baddies, overall game-play).

-Horrible Script and Confused, Forced Story.

-Short (less than 4 hours for most).

-Lack of Replay-Value (even with the additional modes).

-Lack of Online Gaming.

This game is good for a rental when you are bored and have absolutely nothing else to do for a few hours, otherwise, stay away. Play the demo, if you don’t mind doing anything but that over and over again, maybe you will like it.

My 2?

Sega Saturn System Video Game Console

User Ratings and Reviews

2 Stars My opinion
The game system seems to work fine, but the large paddle controller barely works at all. The small controller seems to work much better. My level of satisfaction is just so-so. Based on the sellers statement that all parts were tested and worked well, which is clearly untrue, I would not purchase from that entity again, and recommend against him/her.

5 Stars Xmas 2007 for daughter who grew up on Saturn Sys
Product came in as ordered, was exactlly what was listed, down to the 10 plus games included. This antique may be worth more now than I paid. Thanks, for enabling me to keep a promise, Carl

5 Stars Sega Saturn is Great
A lot of this console’s value is in nastalgia, but it certainly earns a high place in console history. With awesome titles like NiGHTS, Virtua Fighter 2, Panzer Dragoon, Bug, Clockwork Knight, and much more, you should find some of the funnest 32 bit games ever made. The games often didn’t have an incredibly high budget but they have a lot of heart, especially those made by Sega. I’d totally check one out. Prices are rising pretty quick on the product so I wouldn’t wait long.

5 Stars my awsome review
this system is spectaular alot of people think its 32 bit but what do they this console is 64 to the bone it may have a short live span but what does that say alot of consoles had short life spans and made it okay its time to list the famous awsome games for saturn

5 Stars Just what I wanted
The Saturn is a system I had desired to have a big majority of my life. At 25 I finally purchased one. But, I got to say out of the games I have the ones I enjoy the most are 1. World Series Baseball 2 2. Pandemonium

3. Astal 4. Fighters Megamix 5. Virtua Cop 6. Panzer Dragoon. All in all I consider myself a gamer through and through. I have had the orignal Atari, NES, SNES, Gameboy, N64, Dreamcast, PS1, PS2, Gamecube, Wii, XBOX, Genesis,GBA and now a Saturn. My Saturn is probably second only on my preference list to the ps2. If you still do not mind playing older consoles in 2009 like me this is a great system to have. A lot of people say the Saturn did not have any good or great games but thats untrue. In the video game business you just gotta research a game , make a decision and most importantly know what you are buying when you make the purchase otherwise you end up with games you hate.

Xbox 360 Play and Charge Kit

May 15th, 2009

Xbox 360 Play and Charge Kit

With the Xbox 360 Play and Charge Kit, you ensure that the XBox gaming will last you much longer. This special kit will keep your wireless controller’s batteries from running down while you play. Includes rechargeable battery pack and charging cable.

User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars Works great. Saved me from buying a new controller.
I bought this because my wireless controller was not connecting. My controller works fine plugged into the kit. This was cheaper than buying a new controller and I can charge batteries with it.

5 Stars So useful
So much easier than changing batteries every few days! I don’t game a whole lot [yet] but the charge and play kits are just super convenient. They’re not expensive and will save you a ton on batteries. A+

1 Star Overpriced and a Waste of Money
Like all Xbox 360 accessories, the Play & Charge Kit is over priced. I have never been unsatified with a video game accessory until I bought this piece of garbage. It works fine the first few times I used it. Except for the fact that it took more than 6 hours to charge. Then it broke. The light would constantly stay green saying the battery is charge even when I just plugged it in. My controller wouldn’t work unless it was plugged in using the play & charge kit. Rather than buying this, buy the Quick Charge Kit which is only 10 dollars more and very reliable.

1 Star Weak battery, use USBCell instead
My XBox rechargeable packs always seemed to run out of charge in a few hours when playing. Also, within 6 months to a year they would hold no charge at all, making them useless. The charging cord was a pain, too.

I found USBCell rechargeable AA batteries that fit in the XBox controller AA battery pack. 2 USB AA batteries are cheaper than the Play and charge kit; you can play for days rather than hours before they run out of charge, and they don’t wear out in 6 months. They charge in a few hours in any USB port. I would recommend the USBCells instead.

4 Stars Lifesaver
Ever get to that last moment where you’ve got the boss right where youwant them? Then boom you get the controller disconnected message. Well this made so I didn’t have to scramble for batteries. It’ll charge while you play.

NBA 2K9

May 14th, 2009

NBA 2K9

The NBA franchise is back for its 10th season. NBA 2K9 is the premier basketball game for serious players, and delivers the most realistic, stylistic, and feature-rich simulation experience ever available in the NBA 2K franchise - from game play to graphics, presentation and online features.

User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars Great Game
This is the first time i have gotten nba 2k series.

and im not dissapointed at all. the graphics are ok but they are at least WAY better than nba live. online play is pretty good but my only problem is i cant use the up-to-date roster on quickplay. i can only use em for online. im probably doing something wrong though due to recent addition

3 Stars new additions but same problems
NBA 2k9 is probably going to be the last nba 2k game there is going to be for ps2 and they sure gave it their last effort in making this game great. first with the newly added hot zones, it makes the gameplay more realistic with knowing where a person is hot and not. Next, along with that, in the 4th quarter, those players that care clutch (like kobe and lebron), their hot shot bar increases meaning they make more shots in clutch which is extremely impressive. even better, when a player is on fire, their bar goes into RED which means they make every single shot that they shoot which is AWESOME. another pro of this game is that association 2.0 is pretty cool with [...]interface. there’s player of the week, and headline news. you now have 4 scouts and there is training camp as well. the cons of this game: the glitches from 2k8 are sitll there.. many missed layups, dunks from the free throw line from everyone…and the association still doesn’t let new rookies score over 10 points per game for some reason. Overall if you thought nba 2k8 was fun, u’ll love 2k9 because its exactly hte same PLUS even better. for me, i was hoping the glitches were fixed so this game is fun but it could’ve been a better ending

4 Stars Good game
Decent video game. Very fun. Graphics are fine and players performance is accurate. I like Harlan commentating.

4 Stars Above the rim?
I was a big fan of the NBA live series, in fact that’s all I played in the past. I decided to try out the 2K series and I have not been disappointed. I can’t compare this game to previous installments since this is my first time but so far I’m having a ball. The gameplay is fast and exciting, the players look exactly like their counterparts and the music/sound effects adds to the addictive nature of this game.

On the downside, I can’t seem to be able to save a season or the association mode. Maybe I’m doing something wrong. In addition, its way to easy to pull off dunks from anywhere around the post. Attaining baskets and fouls is very easy as well, which shows that this game cators to the offensive oriented. Players miss uncontested layups which just hit the bottom of the iron, that can be quite frustrating. I’ve yet to figure out how to use the dual player feature, due to my recent induction of the franchise. The manual which comes with the game sucks as well, its useless, I guess 2k sports are catoring only to experienced 2K players.

With all that said, the game is highly addictive and lots of fun especially when playing with frineds. I definitely recommend this one, perhaps the last for the beloved PS2.

5 Stars great fun!!!
Great game, I love the game of basketball and this game is just like the real thing…
