Resident Evil 5

This next-generation follow-up to the terrifying series introduces the theme of escape as its core survival instinct. As Chris Redfield, your life is in danger as you strive to complete your most dangerous mission yet in a sweltering desert colony where a new breed of evil has been unleashed. Swarms of marauding evil beings will charge at you when your pulse is racing at a heart-shattering pace. Environments will play a bigger factor than ever here, using the power of next-gen systems to create a world where terror might lurk in any alcove or shadow. Powerful lighting effects overwhelm the player with mirage movement and blinding brilliance, and even in the light of day, there is no safe haven in this Resident Evil. Powerful New Weapons - The number of weapon variations has been greatly increased providing new ways to keep enemies at bay. Fear Light as much as Shadow - Lighting effects provide a new level of suspense as players attempt to survive in both harsh sunlight and extreme darkness.

5 Stars Amazing!
I was looking forward to this game since RE 4 and I when the release date kept getting delayed I was heartbroken. I picked it up on the release date and sadly beat it the same day which was not what I expected at all. But even though it’s very short and somewhat to easy I loved it. It fills in the Chris story and something you’ll be happy to see happens. If you’re a fan of the series I highly recommend this game!

4 Stars Great game
RE5 is a great game but does not last long because of the lack of a good multiplayer game mode. But does have significant replay ability due to wanting to beat it on professional.

5 Stars Sweet game.
Awesome game. I just took it for what it was and enjoyed it. I’ve enjoyed every Resident Evil game, at least in the main series.

5 Stars none
Though Resident Evil 5 lacks that terror caused by the licker you once expected from a R.E. game the change in the gameplay makes it a totally different game and can’t be compared to its predecessors. The only exception to this is R.E. 4 and 5 surpasses it emensely (sp?) anyway. I love it!

4 Stars Non your typical Zombie Action game
FOR XBOX 360 VERSION:

So let me begin by stating that this is MUCH different than other Resident Evil games, while still delivering the same quality story. Now I loved the original Resident Evil games, but this is my favorite. Especially after 4 which was in my opinion drawn out. Now while this game may lack dark creepy and cheap scares where things jump out, they changed pace by having FAST and strong enemies. The suspense is conveyed over a more action paced story and gameplay as opposed to fighting some slow dredging zombies and then spending hours searching for keys or solving puzzles. This game is good and very fun. Playing online with a friend is even more fun, as it allows players to use their own inventory items/profile associated content for gameplay as opposed to limiting their equipment to the host’s content. Split screen is a slight downfall because of the weird offset split screen set up, but this is likely done to maintain aspect ratio. The game encourages you to replay it over and over, and its actually rewarding to do so. Typically right after completing the game most players will immediately start a new game with their upgraded weapons to wreak havoc on some zombies. This game is certainly worth buying and replaying. You won’t regret it.

1 Star The worst Resident Evil ever
This is the worst Resident Evil included Resident Evil 4, its an action game without the horror like RE1, 2, 3 or Code Veronica.

I bought this game because I want to know how the history ends, but I knew that this game will be a bad game.

I love the original Resident Evil (RE1, 2, 3 or Code Veronica) because the syntesis were the horror, how you are walking in the corridor and how a zombi jump to you and this kind of things.

But this game its not RE, its only to run away from the thousand of guys, another thing is that the puzzles doesnt exist in this game, you only shoot shoot and shoot.

For mi its not a RE, this is a great deception, I hope that Capcom fix the next RE and make it like the originals, without accion and more horror.

4 Stars Must Have for ps3
Its like re4 but with online. Its great a little trouble getting used to te controls but its perfect.

4 Stars Best split multiplayer screen game on the PS3
This game is meant to be played with a friend. Sure its got its flaws: bad acting, cliche plots, and it could’ve been A LITTLE bit more scarier, BUT… all these are turned up-side-down into positive points when you play with a friend, cause you actually end up making fun of these things.

The playstation 3 lacks offline multiplayer games with a mission, but between LittleBigPlanet and Resident evil 5 (wow can’t believe i just put these two together in a sentence), we’ve got a pretty good arsenal. (the Xbox360 ALSO got resident evil 5).

Turn off all the lights in the room and enjoy.

P.S. there’s this Tomb raider chapter that we could’ve managed without.

5 Stars excellent game!
Resident Evil fans won’t be disappointed with this one at all, cooperative game play for the first time and still maintains RE essence.

1 Star Great graphics, awful game play, feels tired and predictable
As a huge fan of the Resident Evil franchise, I couldn’t wait for this to come out. Now that it has, I realize this game was all hype and no substance. For starters, the controls are VERY awkward. You spend time thinking about how you will execute the movement in parts of the game when they should just come natural. The biggest flaw design is that the designers have set up the game play where you must decide what items you want to use for each chapter BEFORE you begin the chapter. This seems fine at first, but as you play the game, they don’t even give you the option to drop ANY items! So once you are full you are STUCK with them. How stupid is this??? Then there is the story. The designers decided to tie ALL the Resident Evil stories together to give it a sense of “full circle”. Initially this seemed intriguing, but then as you play the game, the SAME old bosses that you encountered in Resident Evil 4 are here too. You attack one and the little creatures spring out from his back or head. Gee, didn’t see that one coming. But what really got me was their decision to go from a night time horror game to a daylight one. You can see EVERYTHING in the day light. What genius thought this up? Since the bad guys can be seen, they have them “hiding” in areas where it doesn’t make much sense, like the marshland. They were hiding in the water and just jumped out. I know they are infected with the Las Plagas, but can they BREATHE underwater? Apparently they can. Then absolute worst part and horribly corny is these infected beings (I can’t call them zombies since they are really not zombies) will RUSH up to you and attack and then almost come to a stop when they approach you. Oh and they like riding motorcycles too. Speaking of running, you can’t reload when you are running. Your character comes to a COMPLETE stop to reload. Ugh, can it get any worse?? Yes, it can. Your partner Sheva’s artificial intelligence is okay, but not the best. When she is armed with a gun and she runs out of bullets, for some reason she doesn’t switch over to the grenades or other weapons. She will switch from gun to gun, but when she’s out of ammo for those, she will go to the knife. You’ll also find that she uses ammo like it’s going out of style, you are always giving her bullets. I really wanted to like this game, but it’s just tired and predictable. I laughed when the “mystery” character that saved Irving appeared. Why was he dressed like Batman? Didn’t have the ears but it was close. Completely laughable. And they call this survival horror? Please, not a single thing was scary. The game play was boring and not even exciting. No sense of urgency or anything. I felt like I was going through the motions. All of their their previous games gave a sense of fun and excitement. Not this one. We’ve seen it all before in their other games. It’s as if they remade RE 4 and changed a few things. Completely boring. The graphics and sound however is incredible. If you have an audiophile system with an HD TV, it looks and sounds awesome. But you know what they say, all style and substance. That accurately describes this game. Save your money and don’t buy this. This is without question the WORST Resident Evil game in the series.
