Resident Evil 4

In Resident Evil 4 you’ll know a new type of horror, as the classic survival-horror action returns with all-new characters, controls and storylines. We last saw Leon S. Kennedy in Resident Evil 2 - a rookie cop in Raccoon City, fighting to stay alive. That was six years ago. Since then, government forces have managed to control the zombie threat and Leon has become a Federal agent. When the President’s daughter is kidnapped, Leon tracks her to a remote, hidden fortress in Europe - where he’ll relive the horror he faced six years before. Players will face never-before-seen enemies that make Nemesis seem like a kitten. You’ll be wishing for the usual Resident Evil zombies!

4 Stars Good game, difficult mechanics
I’ve enjoyed the game, but getting used to the Wii controls has been difficult to master. I dislike that the controls do not allow for moving and aiming simultaneously. Player has to stop to shoot. This really makes it much harder than it needs to be.
5 Stars Great Game
Great game. If you’ve never played any of the resident evils, this is a great place to start.
5 Stars By far, the best Wii game to date.
I have been a fan of the RE series since its inception for the original Playstation back in 1996. Resident Evil 2 (1998) was my favorite game in the series until this one came along. Although some aspects of the original story, (if not all) have been lost in translation, and the now defunct zombies that have been replaced by psychotic cultists sometimes make you ask, and why is this called Resident Evil 4? Still, if your not a die hard zombie fan who is easily disappointed, then this is the game for you. Some older fans such as myself, may miss the old spookiness, and impending doom you always felt from being surrounded by zombies, however this game has its own little perks, the bad guys for instance are far more intelligent NPCs then the original games, they can follow you almost anywhere once they have you in their sights, and they are not afraid to open doors, I had a lot of fun waiting for a bad guy to walk through a door, and blow him away with the shotgun. The bosses are almost all unique and original, except for the first boss, I can’t help be reminded of the boss from Resident Evil 2 in the sewer. The bad guys are plentiful and can at times be a challenge, but never to the point of frustration, the sequences are strait out of a Hollywood horror, from being surrounded by freaks in a house, to death defying maneuvers that must be preformed almost precisely to win. This is the first mature game for the Wii that I can honestly say is one of my favorite games of all time. The controls are great, with the ability to switch between classic and Wii makes the game 10 times more playable especially when fighting certain bosses. If you only buy one mature game for Wii, let it be this. Quite possibly the greatest RE game of all time.
4 Stars Grown-up fun for when you just need to kill something!
I’ll keep it short and simple:
Quite an ‘edge-of-the-seat’ plot that does have you checking around corners just in case. I probably would have given up on it a few times if I hadn’t downloaded a walkthough from the net; some parts were just a little complicated for my old brain.
Interesting range of demons and bad guys though at times I just got bored with shooting them. The Merchant is an interesting distraction and necessity and you do have to choose wisely sometimes. I do wish he sold bullets though!!!
Overall it’s fun and will kill a great number of hours over time; it gives you a chance to chill out and still challenge your senses.
2 Stars Too scary
My husband bought this game for himself, but is too scared to play it alone!! I’ve watched as he plays and it really doesn’t look fun at all. He just walks around killing the same zombies over and over. I also hate having a game in the house my children can’t be exposed to. I found the game booklet in with my 4 year old daughter’s books the other night… Ugh.
