5 Stars NSP Carbon
Awesome game, great free roam and street racing system. The best in the NFS franchise so far.

5 Stars My Review
I liked the product.

Thank You

4 Stars The best 360 racing title for customization purposes…
Arguements can certainly be made as to whether or not Carbon (2006) is less “thrilling” than Most Wanted (2005). You could also argue that the shorter story line and all night time driving leaves Carbon at a disadvantage when compared with Most Wanted. BUT, one thing that simply cannot be argued is that Carbon is superior to Most Wanted in customizations. In fact, I’d go so far as to say it’s the best racing title yet, even here two years and some odd months later. The possiblities of making yourself a unique ride are endless thanks to autosculpt, a system which allows you to modify parts to your exact specs.

To give you an example, one of the first cars you’ll unlock is a mustang gt (bottom tier). Once you have enough cash and unlocks, you can literally take this thing into the garage and customize it for top tier races, and win! The custom paint graph allows you to get just the right shade of pinks, yellows, purples, whatever; And the chrome wheel selection is expansive both in style and sizes (17-21 inches).

When I started playing racing games, I was strictly an Arcade guy. Give me a Burnout or Midnight Club any day and I was happy. But Carbon completely changed my racing habits, and now customization is the first and foremost thing I check for when picking a title.

Unfortunatly, nothing EA, or anyone else for that matter, has done since is quite as good, although Undercover comes pretty close.

EDIT: I’ve yet to play Midnight Club LA, but if it’s more expansive in the customizations than Carbon, I’d be surprised.

4 Stars Very Fun
This is my opinion is the best need for speed game out. Carbon is very fun and very addictive. The only thing that I didn’t like about it was that all the acheivements are very hard to get but the game in general is very fun.

4 Stars Fun but dark
Actually, it is fun drving in the darkness but the graphic I think is not as good as the previous one.

Need for Speed Prostreet

Need for Speed : Pro Street is a racing experience like no other. For the first time, you’re designing and building a car, competing in iconic locations from around the globe and battling in four distinct racing styles- grip, drag, drift and the all-new speed challenge. The atmosphere is electric - complete with energetic crowds, photo-realistic vehicles and billowing smoke - all designed to embody the pressure and intensity of the gladiatorial challenge known as Show Down. Need for Speed ProStreet is the realization of the power, aggression and rivalry that embodies street racing culture.

1 Star Bye, bye Need for Speed
If i could give zero stars i would, This game was thrown together and rushed out the door, they have killed a franchise,

I have two words for you EA “FREE ROAM” Most Wanted was the best game ever then Carbon running a close second. Oh and how many times do you have to repeat the name RYAN COOPER during an event?

I was apalled by how many menus i had to go through to select a car or a simple race for that matter, and then restricting the type of car i could drive during an event irked me even more, you have to build 4 different cars and tune them all to be able to take the bosses, and the cash you get for race days is pitiful.

I really wanted a quick race mode where i could test out my career cars, but there was none, you had to enter a “race day” and select 4 different events to see how your “blueprints” were gonna work out.

One more thing I really missed was getting away from the cops ala Most Wanted/Carbon, this closed course/no cops in sight layout bored me nearly to tears, There was no fun to be had here, glad i used a gift card for it.

I’ll be sticking to the BurnOut series

4 Stars Need For Speed ProStreet…
Well let me start out by saying that I have played both NFSU, and NFSMW, So I do have an understanding of what was changed.

Overall the changes are welcome, but with changes come some problems. For me, I wish there was a little more story to this game, And that some of the races weren’t so hard! The only other complaint I have is that the Grip races feel a little to much like a Gran Turismo game, I don’t really care that the free roam was taken out, Doesn’t bother me much.

I really like that they decided to make the races at the track, The illegal street racing thing was getting kinda old, and it’s good to mix it up once in awhile, This game definitely doesn’t deserve all abuse it takes.

At first I was thinking of just renting this game, But the place where I go to wants about $8 to rent for the week($5 with a friends discount). They had this game for sale used for $14.99, And with my buddies discount I got it for just over $10. But this game can be bought brand new for $19.99 at bargain bins, and even here on amazon! I also noticed that this game didn’t make greatest hits for PS3/Xbox, But it did make it for the PS2..weird (probably because it was cheaper on the PS2 in the first place)

2 Stars NFS
I played this game once after I bouught it, so I never really gave it a chance.

5 Stars I got a Need for Speed…
NFSProStreet has got to be one of the best installments in the series. Nothing tops NFSUnderground, that’s number one. This one is definitly second in line, though. This game tops the new NFSUnderCover, it aint that good. Need for Speed: ProStreet is a Greatest Hits game and a must-have!!

4 Stars Very good for the new low price
I have been holding back on getting this game ever since it first came out. I keep reading all these mixed reviews…some say it’s good and others say it’s bad.

I myself did not like the idea of NFS getting away from the Underground themes which are my absolute favorite in the series. I also like Most Wanted, but Underground 1 and 2 are my favs. I was quite upset like a lot of others over this change in theme.

Well I was recently in need of a new PS3 racing game and I didn’t want to spend a lot of money…so that did not leave me with a lot of choices since I already have Juiced 2:HIN and Burnout Paradise. So I picked up Pro Street and started playing. I got to say…it is well worth 20 bucks! I really love the drag competitions. They are awesome. Do a burnout to get your tires traction going is really cool indeed. And the cars sound really good when upgraded and look awesome when visually modified with bodykits and vinyls and paintjobs.

I recommend Pro Street for the new low price that it is.

Need for Speed ProStreet is a true taste of raw adrenaline and racing with consequences. Every dent, every scratch and every crumpled body panel is a battle scar, proof of your commitment and competitive mettle. With an aggressive and skilled AI system, you become immersed in an unmatched believable race experience. Enjoy new features with the Need for Speed: ProStreet PSP edition, such as Driver Personas and Driver Intuition. Driver Personas acts like a difficulty setting in the game and asks you questions like you are an experienced racer or a newcomer. Where as Driver Intuition is an assist tool that helps you weave your way through the track by giving you hints on the map.

4 Stars Need for Speed Pro Street……..
After playing Need for Speed Carbon on the PSP, I was expecting Need for Speed Pro Street to be in the same vein. Yet, Pro Street goes back to track racing. Course, that’s how the console version is so Pro Street PSP is just trying to emulate that. But, what made the console version shine(Car customization, autosculpt) isn’t quite up to snuff here. Anyone who has bought a previous Need for Speed game on the PSP will know what to expect in this game in that respect. Not that Pro Street is a bad game, it’s actually contrary to that. It’s a very solid and competent racing game. Just don’t expect it to be like the console version. It could be due to memory restrictions and whatnot, I don’t know, which is something that has plagued a few PSP games of late. The game plays quite well and the graphics are above what we’ve seen in past NFS games on the PSP.

My main gripe with the game doesn’t lie with what I mentioned earlier. What chaps my hide is the blur that’s supposed to give you an increased sense of speed when you get faster. Why? Well, when you’re in first place and wreck due to the fact you couldn’t see an upcoming turn on account of said blur & get knocked out of that place, it gets downright annoying.

Anyhow, Pro Street is a competent racing game. Good if you’re jonesing for a good race but don’t expect it to be as good as past EA NFS titles. As it stands now, Rivals and Carbon are my favorite NFS titles on the PSP. I recommend those first.

5 Stars Need for Speed Prostreet
This is an awesome racing game. Its graphics are good. It has a variety of cars to choose from. It also has a variety of competitions. Its realistic and will keep you playing for a while.

3 Stars So-So…Nothing new…
I’ve been a fan of the NFS series for many many years now, but I’m somewhat disappointed with Pro Street. I pre-ordered the game, and anxiously awaited its arrival, but after a few hours I felt burnt out. It’s very similar to NFS: Carbon, and not that much fun to play.

If you never played NFS: Carbon, it would be enjoyable. However, to anyone who has it’s nearly identical.

3/5

1 Star Junk. Doesn’t work!
Can’t review what doesn’t work. Can’t play the game. All I get is a black screen. Tried it on other p.c.s, but, same result./ nfs.exe file not found.

3 Stars Poor graphics and lame storyline.
I was a bit disappointed by this. The graphics are horrible during gameplay. NFS Undergound puts the graphics on this to shame. The storyline wasn’t too exciting either.

2 Stars Jerky announcer and jerky on SLI
This game annoyed me. After turning down the volume on the strip-club dj announcer, it still annoyed me because I couldn’t seem to get a good flowing fps with this game no matter what settings.

Running 2 x EVGA 8800gt sc on Asus crosshair2 2x pcie2.0’s with AMD 9950 oc 3.0mhz and corsair dominator pc8500 @ 1071mhz

This rig runs crysis smooth as butter maxed @ 1600×1050 (no filtering)…

Game was moderately fun but doesn’t even come close to Grid for pure adrenaline racing experience.

5 Stars Need for Speed Carbon
This is a pretty good game. It like most all the need for speed games and this one is exciting due to the racing and running aspect and with partners on a crew . Pretty interesting concept and has worked fine thus far . The game is fast and competitive . Great game !!

4 Stars Very pleased
I bought this for my son who loves it. Ordering was easy and item delivered as promised.

4 Stars NSF Carbon
The game was in great shape and arrive earlier than excepted, would buy from them again.

5 Stars Great Game & Great Service
Fun game and great service that amazon provided. I got this on time. Free super saver shipping ROCKZ!

4 Stars Very Fun and Very Customizable
This game run’s neck-and-neck with Need for Speed: Most Wanted. The graphics are great, the gameplay is great, and the level of customization is great.

There are far less police chases than Most Wanted and it’s a bit easier to get away. It seemed to track the cost to state and bounty, but didn’t do anything with them.

They also resurrected the drift tracks…so much fun!

In a Risk-type manner you take over territories. With each race you unlock parts/customizations and with each territory you unlock cars. Also, if you do all the races in an area you get an added bonus.

In this one you get a crew. Each crew member has different qualities (both on and off the road). If you want to come in second every race, then get a scout and enjoy “Team Member Won” wins. If you want to be first and hear funny quips, get a blocker.

Some crew members unlock customizations, others unlock racing bonuses. Personally, I prefer the bonuses.
