5 Stars hack link
They have made vast improvements over the Sonic and the Secret Rings game, and the sword is a pretty neat addition
4 Stars Decent game
Sonic and the Black Knight had a lot of effort put into this game. However, I feel this is not the best 3D sonic entry. I still enjoyed the game overall
Where the game was Awesome:
*The visuals are outstanding.
*The music pretty good as well with a mix of classical and rock elements
*The game is all sonic. (With the option to play as other characters including knuckles, shadow and blaze)
*You have control of sonic with the analog stick. I felt that Sonic and the Secret Rings could be unplayable at times with the sideways wii remote setup for that game. Also jump is the “A” button in this game, which is nice as well.
Parts that are not so great
*The sword element is a little bit too repetitive. I wouldn’t mind this so much if there were sections without enemies, but I feel they went a little overboard with having them block your way. You can jump over them but after a while you wish you were playing the Sonic unleashed daytime levels.
*The swordplay itself is difficult to time perfectly. The enemies won’t slow you down if you slash them at the exact moment, but it can be hard to time it correctly. Especially since you “Waggle” your arm for the attack
*Multiplayer is nowhere as good as the one in Sonic Adventure 2 Battle.
*I found that in a lot of levels you could literary hold the control stick forward the whole time (It is on rails) and jump a few times and you would beat the level.
Things to consider
*I feel like this game is geared toward a younger audience.
*There are some weird quests that are sometimes optional. For example, in some levels your objective is to not run into any civilians and they flood the course with civilians. Another quest would be give the civilians a total of say 80 coins. In which you walk up to a civilian, press z, and perform the controls the civilian wants you to do and they take 20 coins. Or you have to defeat a level by slashing 50 plus enemies. Most of these quests are optional, I didn’t like them, but it’s nice they added more for you to do in the game.
*There are hardly any 2.5D sections (where the camera switches to a side view). There were way more in Sonic Unleashed.
Ultimately the games in the Sonic Adventure Series are my favorite and if you want to play any sonic game in multiplayer mode, then you defiantly want to play Sonic Adventure 2 Battle.
5 Stars Awsomness!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This game is one of the best Sonic games out there. Where Sonic weilds a sword, it is a nice addition to the Sonic series. Think of it as playing a Sonic game, with the same controls to control your sword as The Legend of Zelda twilight princess for the Wii. It has a great story and great graphics. I would highly recomend this to any Sonic fan out there.
5 Stars Awesome, but easy
This game is awesome. You use a sword, which is actually fun. The Blacksmith can make new swords, and you can have sword fights in multiplayer. Plus, after you beat the King, you can use Gawain(Knuckles), Lancelot(Shadow), and
Percival(Blaze) on certain levels. There are lots of side missions, and you can get people to follow you(wave at you when you play) by doing well and giving poor people rings. However, the main story is easy(about 5 hours for me) but getting all the bonus and multiplayer characters will take a while. Awesome game!
5 Stars An interesting new idea
I have not had this game for very long, but so far I am enjoying it very much. They have made vast improvements over the Sonic and the Secret Rings game, and the sword is a pretty neat addition. You can actually from side to side in this game, somewhat, unlike the last storybook sonic game.
If I had to complain about anything, I would have to say mainly it seems simple. Sonic does not move as fast as he does in Sonic Unleashed, but I guess that’s because this game was more focused on being able to use a sword. If you could blast past and through everything, then the sword would be just about useless. Maybe it just seems simple because I have played just about every sonic game made.
Also some may like to know that it seems Blaze, Shadow, and Knuckles are somehow involved in the story line, or maybe just characters that resemble them. I have not gotten far enough through the game to see what happens with them though. There also is multiplayer battle modes, but I have not tried them yet either.
Anyway I give this a thumbs up over Sonic and the Secret Rings and recommend giving it a shot.
