Beautiful Graphics and Presentation
Take-Two continues to refine the graphics and presentation of the game, and when you play MLB 2K9, you’ll often wonder if you weren’t watching television. The new Virtual Director brings smart camera placement, dramatic cuts, and more for a broadcast feel. Real-Time Atmosphere means ballboys, umpires, and coaches move naturally.

New Controls for Precision Batting and Pitching
Using the analog sticks, Take-Two’s Precision Pitching and Swing Stick give you the ability to paint the corners with your pitches and pull an inside fastball over the wall for a home run. The game carefully tracks aim and timing, so the ball always responds as you would expect it to in real life.

Player Specific Animations for More Realistic Games
2K Sports continues to build in more player-specific details, so now you can recognize your favorite players simply by watching the way they move around the batters box, how they swing the bat, or how they celebrate their home runs. It’s not just hitters who get this treatment as pitchers also have their unique deliveries and windups. The result is a game that feels more life-like than before.

Online Play with Sponsored Competitions
When you’re done practicing against the computer, you can suit up against your friends and play them online or off. With the Playoffs feature, you can skip the 162 game season and go straight to the playoffs with any eight teams you and friends want to play with. Then it’s just a matter of playing the games to see who gets the World Series Trophy.

Team 2K is an online competition to see who the best team of online players are. By playing Ranked Quick Matches, you can join in the fun and compete for prizes.

New Play by Play and Commentary Team
MLB 2K9 brings with it the new broadcast team of Gary Thorne and Steve Phillips. The new team injects depth and insight into the game, and provides another level of realism. In addition, the game also has real-time crowd noise and other sound effects that will have you feeling like you’re sitting in the bleachers.

User Ratings and Reviews

4 Stars not that bad
i tried out and played MLB 2k9 for only about 30 minutes, and it’s not that bad.

the graphics are nice, including the crowd reacting to balls hit into the stands (foul balls and homeruns).

my only beef after 30 minutes was the pitching, i don’t get it. i was pitching with Tim Lincecum (cover-boy) and my curves were hitting the ground and bouncing to the backstop. Fastballs were hitting way outside or way inside.

but other than that, 2k9 is at least worth renting.

2 Stars 2K Must Stand For TO KIDS
For some crazy reason, 2K and all the other sports game makers for XBOX 360 have decided that the games are all about the graphics and they have forgotten that just because a guy looks real catching a ball and turnnig a double play that if he is doing so in an unreal slow speed, it just ain’t baseball. That goes for all the sports other than maybe what I have seen on some of the NHL Hockey games. I am an old PC sports game nut and I am praying that there will be a rededication to making fast pace real speed sports games for PC again. If you want a game that looks good, buy this one. If you want real speed baseball action, tryout for a local team or watch a game on TV. Kids may really love this game but an adult is going to be left feeling like he or she is watching paint dry.

3 Stars Its ok ( hope you like glitches )
Let me say that for the most part i enjoy this game. Maybe because i have no other options. The glitches coming out of all the MLB 2k games is getting to be a bit much. I am a huge baseball fan so i deal with it just because i want a baseball game to play. Dont have a PS3 so i have no other options. Lots of feilding glitches, you will have a ton of throwing errors. Stats are jacked up. Whats frustrating is that this game has ( had ) potential. But 2K, again, shortchanged us on a quality game. Unless your a big baseball fan i would just rent it. I bought it because i am willing to deal with the mediocrity. Maybe they should invest more money in the game instead of the stupid comercials??

3 Stars Don’t listen to others
This game is no where near as bad as most think. It has superb graphics and commentary, since 2k has released the patch the game is very lifelike for both the cpu and player. Is it perfect, no. But from what i’m reading about “the show” it is no worse if not better.

1 Star Waiting for 2K10!!!
I ignored the negative review and now i’m paying for my ignorance.I can tolorate all the glitches but when the game locks up during loading or after finishing the game to exit while playing the franchise mode making you start the season over, that pretty much put the nail on the coffin for this game for me.I bought the system when i purchased MLB 2K9 so i assume the game getting locked is the software issue.

User Ratings and Reviews

2 Stars Cute dogs but . . . .
I bought this product for my daughter who loves dogs and loves Wii based on positive reviews from others. I was quite disappointed. It has very few activities (at least until you play for along time to unlock more) - and they are pretty boring - you can “pet” your dog, “dress” your dog, teach your dog tricks (supposedly) or race your dog. Petting is extremely boring, the dog tricks are really people tricks as you have to point at the screen with your Wii remote and guide a bone through a circle while the dog sits and watches. Racing may be fun in 2 player mode, but for single player there are no other dogs - your dog just runs himself (based on the player pumping the remote up and down). The dogs are VERY cute though and it is fun to name them - but that isn’t enough to make you want to play.

My daughter was home sick with nothing better to do and only wanted to play it for 10 minutes before asking to play her other Wii games instead. At my request she gave it more of a chance - but still after a short time was thoroughly bored and has not wanted to play it since that first day.

5 Stars Five Year Old LOVES IT!
We have tried basically every Wii game for my 5 year old and this is one of the top 10 for kids this little. With instructions given to her in the beginning she was able to take off and play on her own. Granted, theres not a lot to the game so I wouldnt recomment it for older kids, but its perfect for age groups 4-7! She really enjoy this game and unlike many games that weve tried and she gets frustrated with or is just not interested in, she likes this one.

4 Stars Easy and Fun to Play
We got this for our 7yo son who loves puppies, but our 9yo son took it completely over - along with DAD! Now, they race their puppies together, and that is fun for mom to watch. Up to 4 people/puppies can race at a time, and there are a variety of courses that get a bit more difficult each time. It’s friendly, uncomplicated competition. Plus, you can unlock outfits for the pups (you have to see a dog wearing a toucan nose to really appreciate it), choose new dogs -there are lots of breeds - train them, pet them, etc. I highly recommend it.

5 Stars Petz Sports Fun!
I got this for my 9 year old daughter who loves dogs but is a load of fun for the whole family. Great game!

5 Stars Fun Dog Game
This game is fun for kids and adults 4 and up. It is easy and fun to play. On singleplayer you get to adopt a dog(s) and pet him, teach him tricks, enter an agility course and win awards, dress him, play jumprope (which comes locked at first), and play catch (which also comes locked). My dad adopted a husky, my little brother adopted a German sheperd, and I adopted a pug. On multiplayer up to 3 friends can join your dog in an ajilitity course, but awards are not saved.

NASCAR 09

NASCAR 09

Ever wanted to be a Nascar star? Race your way with unprecedented adaptability and customization in NASCAR 09. As the sport’s newest prodigy, NASCAR’s four-time champion Jeff Gordon takes you under his wing and guides you through some of the key aspects of the game. Use his advice to your advantage when racing in Career mode or the Sprint Driver Challenges to earn reputation and become a NASCAR champion yourself. Create a racing credential, design a customized car, and get ready to race for premier contracts as you work your way to the top with NASCAR 09.

User Ratings and Reviews

3 Stars No more family fun
I made a mistake. Having owned an earlier game in EA’s NASCAR series for the PS2, I bought NASCAR 09 for my son’s new Xbox360 without looking at the box and learning that it’s a 1-Player game.

You see, we used to have a lot of fun racing against each other. But, in this iteration, that’s not possible. You can race strangers on-line, but you can’t race a member of your own family in the living room?

For what it is, it’s okay. The graphics are much prettier than I’m used to, and the driving is more difficult than in the older version. I like the new view that puts you in the cockpit of the car looking at the driver’s hands on the steering wheel - the most realistic of the views but hard to use.

It’s a decent simulation, but I miss a two-player mode.

2 Stars The Create a Car feature ALMOST saves this one
It seems that EA can never get it right with their games, and probably never will as long as they hold the exclusive license to America’s top motorsport (thankfully, they no longer have their greedy mitts on the F1 license, now posessed by Codemasters). This year, they seemed to be too lazy…or too tight wadded to acquire car licenses…so they added the create a car feature, making the players make the cars the way they should’ve been made in the first place.

Now…this feature is good and all…but its about the only good thing in the entire game. Car handling is still far from perfected, even with the inclusion of two different racing styles. The AI are still dumb as rocks, and will give you little to no room, and are almost impossible to work with at tracks where working together is a necessity (i.e. drafting at Daytona…which is a joke in this years game).

Most of the bugs online have been fixed, but EA decided rather than hosting all the custom paintschemes so that all playes could see each others cars, you must be a friend of a player to see his/her customized ride. Major bummer.

My suggestion: if you LOVE NASCAR, and absolutely positively need the most up to date edition, go for it. However, if you are just looking for a fun racing game, I suggest you look elsewhere (Grid and Burnout, while they are arcade racers, are a heck of a lot of fun online).

3 Stars Fun but very bugy
The game play is much improved over last year. The 09 version has many more driver assists, so a new player can start racing without continuously crashing into walls and other cars. So this year I’m actually enjoying playing the game. I like the racing in close quarters with other cars, which you don’t get to do in most other racing games.

I’m only giving 3 stars because the game has a ridiculous amount of bugs in the career mode. It will say that I haven’t met my sponser’s goals, and then immediately it will say that I have. I’m continouosly having to go to the paint shop to redo my cars because the game doesn’t think I have the right one. It says I can load a car from disk in the paint shop, but no. There are save options, but no load. The game will often lose my paint selection, giving me the awesome gray on gray look. Again forcing me to go back to the paint shop.

Nice attempt EA. Maybe next time you should try doing some testing though.

2 Stars NASCAR - bite me
First - I love racing games. I love all kinds of racing games. But NASCAR has been a terrible game since it first came out years ago. Now here we are with NASCAR 09 and the graphic engine is horrid. I thought I was playing Pong. It was sad. But the graphics for the real NASCAR driver (Jeff Gordon I think) shown in the garage ever ten seconds is almost life like.

Really EA. That is the best you could do? The racing is not bad, it is fairly realistic. The game is hard to move around in though and there is not a lot of intuitive steps for a non-NASCAR person.

WOW, I can’t wait for NASCAR 10 so I can waste another $20.

3 Stars Nascar Fan
This game will give you an all new respect for the real drivers. This is not a game for the average driver. Even the beginner setting are to much for me. I have both the 08 and 09 games and I do like the lay out of the game and the caracteristics of the 08 game just a little better.

User Ratings and Reviews

4 Stars Fun with friends, not for those looking for “realism”
A quick caveat: this is not Wii Sports. You don’t just stand and swing. There is a specific way to play and that may discourage or frustrate players who are expecting a direct motion/swing game mechanic.

All that aside, this is a fun game. You start out with only a few characters and a couple courses, but you unlock new ones as you play in tournaments, and you unlock characters by beating them in challenges.

The swing mechanic is the thing that sets it apart from Wii Sports’ version of golf. Yes you use motion to control your swing, but NO, the strength of your swing does not determine the strength of the shot. Instead, they have mixed standard control play with a motion based interface.

You move your remote back to the desired point on a swing bar. You wait for a shadow remote icon to meet your current position. After that, the forward swing begins and you want to time it so that you are pointing down when the icon is in the “swing zone”. The accuracy of your shot changes depending on how accurate your timing was. You can also hook and slice by twisting the remote, add extra power by flicking the remote a little at the end of your swing, and you can control top and back spin.

The above paragraph alone should show you that while this is an arcade style game, there is much that you can control. The control scheme is awkward at first, but once you understand it (you can take unlimited practice swings, and you can also practice any hole in a separate training mode) it is easy to use.

The game supports online play, and you can also play multiplayer on a single console, with one or multiple remotes, which is a plus. If you only have 2 remotes, but 4 people, you can still play.

I can’t compare this to super swing golf, but it’s definitely more fulfilling to play than playing the same 9 holes on wii sports.

4 Stars Very enjoyable
I’m not a real life golfer looking for the most realistic game - just something fairly realistic with a variety of courses to have fun with. This fits the bill

5 Stars Really fun game
For the one review that says that “there are only 3 courses and 4 characters” you haven’t played it enough yet. There are about 10 or so courses that you get rewarded for winning the tournaments with and to get more characters you have to play single player vs. match….the vs. part is a new computer opponent that you get to keep as a pickable character if you win the round. It’s a really fun game, and yes I will agree the little Wii remote guy that guides you is annoying (but you learn to ignore it real quick).

3 Stars We Love Golf!
Purchased this game for my family and they like it, but it does not compare to the golf that came with WII games disk. Overall it is fun and they seem to enjoy it.

5 Stars This is a great game, and I recomend this to everybody!
We love golf! is a great game for everyone to enjoy and prosper! The levels are well designed and fun. The game play is outrages and it’s worth 30$. Who ever reads this and does not own We love golf! I recommend you buy it. The game has 9 awesome courses, plus the other 2 short courses for endless fun! I give this game a 10 out of 10. It’s a masterpiece, and Camelot proves they still have the golfing touch in a game~

User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars I’ve lost 12 pounds playing this and Wii fit!
I bought this game after buying the Wii Fit as an additional weight loss tool. I’m addicted. If you like boxing you’ll love this game. I didn’t know that the game was mostly boxing when I bought it and wondered how I’d like it. I got right in there and love learning all the moves. As a 35 year old female I love the workouts they give you form easy, medium and hardcore. You can unlock games other than boxing like jump rope, log cutting, stomach exercises, squats, dodging, hitting the bag, etc. It only took me a week to unlock all of the other workouts. There is an examination and shape boxing which goes up in skill level. The people who couldn’t figure out the jump rope and other balance board activites, just need a little patience and good listening. It shows you how do to everything. You can unlock different trainers and clothes you can buy with your points. You can also change clothes on the trainers along with music you get for doing any of the workouts. There are 3 different areas to box from the gym to the forest to the beach.

5 Stars AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME
Love this game!! I am one for getting my exercise centered around the Wii. Love this game. Ever since boxing with the wii fit I have been looking for more and this is it! Even using the wii fit board in new ways with this game. Excellent game, you wont be disappointed.

5 Stars Excellent workout packed full of fun!
I have had this Workout for a week and a half and I haven’t missed a day yet, which is saying a lot for me. It is so much fun that you don’t even realize what an intense workout you are getting. After 47 minutes I looked at my calorie burn on my heart rate monitor and it was at 518 calories already burned. I was amazed.

The first couple of days, I was very sore, but I was drawn back to the workout due to the game feel to it. I wanted to see what else would open and how the lessons would change from day to day. They do definitely change and continually get harder, but not in such big increments that you can’t keep up and continue enjoying the workout.

The one feature that I didn’t like, was the jump rope in the exercise portion. If you twirl your wrist like you would to actually propel the rope you can’t get it to sense that you are jumping. You need to hold your hand still and jump up and down as if skipping, but not turning the rope.

I also can’t see where it tracks your weight. It does record it, but I haven’t come across anywhere that it shows your progressive weight loss. It would also be nice if it took your weight directly from standing on the balance board like Wii Fit, but it doesn’t you just have to enter your weight yourself.

All in all I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to get a good sweat going and have fun while doing it.

5 Stars LOVE it!
Simply put, I love this game!

I enjoy Wii Fit, but generally do not view it as a source of great workouts for me (I am in my young 20s and consider myself to be somewhat athletic). I bought My Fitness Instructor and hate it. It is SO repetitive and boring and whenever I try to use it I find that I want to gouge my eyeballs out. I love (and really need to spend more time) working out but I have bad knees. This game provides a very good low impact workout, which is obviously hugely important for me.

I agree with someone else who mentioned that with some actions (I have found hooks and weaving) that you really need to exagerate your movements. But it is not a huge issue by any means. Also, I wish that there were more background options, but its not the end of the world. On the flip side, I do love to change up my outfit and pick different trainers (who are much less annoying than the Wii Fit trainers).

The first few days that I played this game, I was VERY sore. I was using muscles that have been neglected for a bit too long. I definitely recommend this game to anyone who is looking for a good workout- I know this game makes me sweat! I can understand how the name is misleading as is the fact that it is balance board compatible. But, if you do your research before buying, you will know what this game is all about.

4 Stars CARDIO “BOXING” WORKOUT
Gold’s Gym Cardio Workout is a very good and physically challenging game. I’ve played it for about 8 days now.

The good-

Makes you sweat

Great Boxing routines and makes up a program for every time u workout

Can change trainers and music for each work outs

You can use the Wii Balance Board

Boxing exams to maximize technique and skill

Has a shop to buy accessories and clothing

Option to use two Wii Remotes or Remote with Nunchuk

The bad-

Focuses mainly on Boxing and only a few fitness exercises

Does not automatically input weight and height or BMI

Wii Balance Board works with only some exercises, not boxing

Can’t really customize Wii Character to look like you

Cannot pause game during a workout
